I am sure you have noticed the from email address when the K2 server sends out task notification, it is normally something like “System@K2.local” which is not pretty. My client, like any other client, doesn’t like this and said they want it to show up as an email address they had set up just for K2, so after a bit of digging and a post on K2 underground, I got a solution:

• Browse to the Bin folder on the Host Server install, normally found at “C:\\Program files(x86)\K2 Blackpearl\Host Server\” If you are using Blackpoint, then it will be Blackpoint not Blackpearl.
• In the bin folder look for a file called “SourceCode.EventBus.Server.Config”, and open it in your favourite text editor.
• look for the tags<sendmail></sendmail>, change the value between them to the email address you want K2 to use, and voila, a nice clean good looking from address will now show up in the “from” field.

A pretty simple solution in the end, just not well documented.
